This Merlin Gerin MCCB (Moulded Case Circuit Breaker) is a heavy-duty industrial protector designed for high-power electrical distribution. While a standard MCB is for small household loads, an MCCB is the "big brother" used to protect entire buildings, large factories, or massive industrial machinery.

Its primary job is to handle significantly higher electrical forces and provide a robust "break" in the circuit during a major fault.

Breakdown of the Technical Specs:

• 60A (Current Rating): This is the maximum continuous current the device can handle.
• 10kA (Breaking Capacity): This measures the maximum "fault current" the device can safely interrupt without being destroyed.
• 3 POLE (Isolation & Safety): This defines how many separate power lines the MCCB monitors and trips simultaneously. If a fault is detected on any one pole, the internal mechanism "snaps" all of them off together.
  • Single Pole (1-Pole): Protects one live line. Rarely used in MCCB format unless for specific heavy DC or single-phase industrial loads.

An MCCB is used when the electrical "pressure" is much higher; it is physically larger and built with tougher internal components to extinguish the massive electrical arcs that occur when 100+ Amps are suddenly disconnected.
